Fabric Care & Responsibility

Thoughtful Fibres. Traceable Origins. Conscious Care.

Our Fabric Philosophy

At Omally, we begin with intention.

All our fabrics are sourced as whites (undyed base fabrics) before they are dyed, printed, or finished. This allows us to trace them back to their origin — from fibre to mill — ensuring transparency in sourcing and production.

We choose fibres that are:

  • Renewable or regenerated from responsible sources
  • Lower impact compared to conventional alternatives
  • Biodegradable or compostable wherever possible
  • Produced under certified or verifiable environmental standards

For us, sustainability is not a marketing word — it is about knowing where our fabric begins before it becomes a garment.

Our Fabrics

Tencel™ (Lyocell)

Tencel™ is the brand name. Lyocell is the fibre type.

Tencel™ Lyocell is made from sustainably sourced wood pulp (typically eucalyptus) in a closed-loop process that recycles water and solvents.

Why It’s a Better Alternative

  • Requires significantly less water than conventional cotton
  • Made from renewable wood sources
  • Closed-loop production system
  • Fully biodegradable
  • Breathable, soft, and long-lasting

Care

  • Gentle machine or hand wash in cold water (≤30°C)
  • Wash with similar colours
  • Do not bleach
  • Air dry in shade; tumble dry low if necessary
  • Iron low–medium heat (110–150°C)
  • Organic dry clean safe

100% Organic Cotton 60’s Sateen

Sateen is a weave. Satin is traditionally silk or synthetic.

Cotton sateen uses a satin-style weave but with cotton yarns — giving it a soft sheen without synthetic shine.

“60’s” refers to the yarn count — a finer yarn that creates a smoother, softer finish.

Why It’s a Better Alternative

  • Grown without synthetic pesticides or harmful chemicals
  • Uses less toxic processing
  • Biodegradable
  • Softer and more breathable than polyester satin
  • Durable yet refined

Care

  • Wash with similar colours
  • Do not bleach
  • Air dry in shade; tumble dry low if needed
  • Iron low–medium heat (110–150°C)

Bemberg™ Cupro

Bemberg Cupro is a regenerated cellulose fibre made from cotton linter — a byproduct of the cotton industry that would otherwise go to waste.

Why It’s a Better Alternative

  • Uses cotton waste, not new crops
  • Biodegradable
  • Breathable like cotton, drapes like silk
  • More sustainable than polyester lining fabrics
  • Produced in controlled, closed-loop systems

Care

  • Hand wash or delicate machine wash in cold water (≤30°C)
  • Use mild liquid detergent
  • Do not bleach
  • Air dry in shade; no tumble drying
  • Iron low heat (110°C), inside out
  • Organic dry clean safe

100% Peace Silk Organza

Peace Silk (Ahimsa Silk) is produced without harming the silkworm. The moth is allowed to emerge naturally before the fibre is processed.

Organza is a lightweight, sheer weave that adds structure without heaviness.

Why It’s a Better Alternative

  • Non-violent silk production
  • Natural, biodegradable fibre
  • Breathable and long-lasting
  • A conscious alternative to synthetic organza

Care

  • Gentle hand wash in cold water (≤30°C)
  • Use mild, pH-neutral detergent
  • Do not bleach
  • Air dry flat in shade
  • Iron low heat (110°C) with pressing cloth

Conscious Care is Part of Sustainability

The way you care for your garment determines its lifespan.

Washing in cold water, avoiding harsh chemicals, and air drying significantly reduces environmental impact while extending garment life.

At Omally, sustainability does not end at production — it continues in how you wear, wash, and preserve your pieces.
